- Add in all the spices except the cinnamon sticks and cumin seeds.. And mix ensuring the meat is evenly coated
- Add in the blended tomatoes and fried potatoes...and half the browned cooked onions...
- Finally add in the mala and let it cook under medium heat for about 20-30min to thickens...
- For the rice,in a hot sufuria, add about 4tablespoons of oil... Once hot add the cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and pilau masala... And salt to taste
- Cook for about two minutes... Add in the rice.. Mix ensuring it's coated with the spices..
- Add in four cups of water.....and cover letting it cook...
- Once cooked take a pinch of the food color and mix with about 2tablespoons of water... And sprinkle on the rice... And add the remaining cooked onions on the top
- Fluff the rice with a fork,to mix the onions in and the food color
- Serve the rice with the biriyani and enjoy while hot... I served with homemade cooked chilli sauce
